Yes, mine does the same thing! My Karst Shepherd has this uncanny ability to sense when visitors are near. She starts alerting us long before we see anyone. It's almost like she can hear footsteps from blocks away. It's one of those quirks that makes these dogs so special and great for security.

Absolutely! My Karst is always eager to be outside, especially for hikes. He was bred for the outdoors and truly thrives there.

I would absolutely choose a Karst Shepherd again given the chance. They are such intelligent and versatile dogs. I've found them incredibly devoted, and it's rewarding to watch them work. They do need consistent training and socialization, especially since they can be reserved with strangers, but the bond we have is worth it.
