01Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Levelo, Inc.(“Company”, “id4.pet”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit the website at id4.pet(the “Website”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal information more generally.
02What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owner. “Similar technologies” include local storage, pixels, tags, and software development kits (SDKs) that perform comparable functions.
- First-party cookies are set by id4.pet directly.
- Third-party cookies are set by a different domain, such as our analytics provider.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain for a set period or until you delete them.
03Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- make the Website function and keep it secure;
- remember your preferences (such as language or interface choices);
- understand how visitors find and use the Website so we can measure and improve it;
- measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, where applicable.
04Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required to run the Website, maintain session state, balance load, and ensure security. The Website cannot function properly without these. | Session cookie, CSRF / security token. | Not required (exempt). |
| Preferences | Remember choices you make, such as language or display preferences, to give you a more personalized experience. | Locale, theme. | Required where non-essential. |
| Analytics | Help us understand how the Website is used (pages viewed, traffic sources, aggregate behavior) so we can improve it. Data is used in aggregate. | Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*). | Required. |
| Advertising (optional) | If enabled, used to measure marketing campaigns or show relevant promotional content. We do not currently run cross-context behavioral advertising. | Conversion pixels, campaign tags. | Required. |
05Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third parties that provide services on our behalf. These providers may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy and cookie policies. The main third party we use on the Website is Google LLC (Google Analytics). When you embed or interact with third-party content, those parties may also set cookies that we do not control.
06Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Website. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example, _ga and _ga_<container-id>) to distinguish users and sessions and to report aggregate statistics such as page views, traffic sources, and approximate location (city-level, derived from IP).
- We use this data only to measure and improve the Website.
- We do not use Google Analytics to identify you personally or to combine analytics data with your account.
- Google processes this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
07Legal Basis & Consent
Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning Website and are exempt from consent under applicable ePrivacy rules. For all other cookies (preferences, analytics, advertising), where required by the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy Directive (and equivalent laws), we rely on your consent.
Where a consent mechanism is presented, non-essential cookies are not set until you accept them, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
08How to Manage Cookies
You can control and delete cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings.Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and warn you before they are set. See your browser’s help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) for instructions.
- Analytics opt-out. Use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit.
- Device controls. On mobile, you can reset or limit advertising identifiers in your operating-system privacy settings.
09Mobile App & Similar Technologies
Our mobile application does not use HTTP cookies, but it uses device storage and SDK identifiers for similar purposes such as session management, analytics, and crash reporting. These are described in our Privacy Policy.
10Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Because there is no industry consensus on how to respond to browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals, the Website does not currently respond to them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information where applicable, as described in our Privacy Policy.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
