Q&A
answer · Romagna Water Dog
I wholeheartedly recommend a Lagotto Romagnolo. They are known for their affectionate temperament and are particularly good with children, which is perfect if you have a family. I've noticed they tend to form strong bonds with their owners, often following me around the house like a shadow. Their innate ability to sniff out truffles is fascinating; it's like having a little treasure hunter in the house. Regular grooming is essential to keep their coat healthy and tangle-free, but the low shedding is worth it. If you can provide them with mental stimulation and exercise, they will thrive and make wonderful companions.

My dog is obsessed with playing hide and seek. He’ll sniff me out wherever I try to hide, and it’s a great way for him to use that incredible nose of his. We both end up having a lot of fun.

I’ll never forget the day my Lagotto Romagnolo found a mud puddle and decided it was his personal spa day. He rolled around, splattering mud everywhere and looking completely satisfied. I thought he’d be embarrassed, but he strutted around like he was the king of the world. Lagottos are known for their love of water, but I didn’t realize they’d take any chance to get messy too. It took hours to clean him up, but seeing him happy was totally worth it!
question · Romagna Water Dog
I buried treats in the yard thinking it would keep my Lagotto busy... now I have a backyard full of holes 😂 Worth it?
answer · Romagna Water Dog
Yes, my Lagotto definitely surprises me with his nose. He can sniff out truffles like a pro, which is pretty impressive. I never thought I’d have a little forager at home.
question · Romagna Water Dog
My groomer recommended keeping the coat shorter during summer. Do you?
answer · Romagna Water Dog
Absolutely! My Lagotto definitely has an extraordinary nose. He can sniff out truffles like a professional. It's fascinating how they were bred for this, and he has a natural talent for it. I love taking him on walks where he can use this skill.
