Q&A
answer · Japanese Spitz
Yes!
answer · Japanese Spitz
One thing I wish I knew sooner is that American Eskimo Dogs require a lot of mental stimulation. They are super intelligent and need daily activities to keep them happy. If they get bored, they can easily turn to trouble. Regular exercise and training can help channel their energy, plus it's a great bonding time. You might want to check out some fun puzzle toys for them.
question · Japanese Spitz
I vacuum every morning... by the evening it looks like I skipped a week 😂 Anyone else living in a snowstorm of white fur?
answer · Japanese Spitz
I was shocked by how vocal my Eskimo is. They really love to talk!
answer · Japanese Spitz
In my experience, they love playing with kids and are quite gentle.
answer · Japanese Spitz
Absolutely, I’d choose an American Eskimo Dog again. They have such a fun personality and are very loyal. I love how they thrive on human interaction and play.
answer · Japanese Spitz
My Eskie is quite the character. One time, I caught him trying to bury his chew toy in the couch cushions. He thought nobody was watching!
answer · Japanese Spitz
You are not imagining it.
question · Japanese Spitz
How does your dog react to meeting new people?
answer · Japanese Spitz
She really loves running around in the backyard. It’s her happy place!
answer · Japanese Spitz
Compliments come our way almost daily. His fluffy coat always catches people's eyes. It’s nice to see how much joy he brings to others just by being himself.
answer · Japanese Spitz
American Eskimo Dogs are friendly, intelligent, and fairly easy to train, which makes them great for beginners. They do require regular grooming due to their thick coat, but they're usually pretty adaptable. Just be ready to give them a lot of playtime and mental stimulation. They really enjoy family interactions and can even learn some fun tricks quickly!
answer · Japanese Spitz
Of course, he sleeps in bed with me.
question · Japanese Spitz
What's one thing that surprised you after bringing one home?
answer · Japanese Spitz
Same. I stopped chasing perfect with my Japanese Spitz. Leave-in spray midweek saved me. Full bath day is when the coat actually looks silky. If you wait until it tangles, you are fighting a losing battle. Ask me how I know.
answer · Japanese Spitz
Little and often works better than one marathon session. I do a quick brush before walks and a longer session once a week. If you wait until it tangles, you are fighting a losing battle. Ask me how I know. Still figuring it out like everyone else, Alicia.
