Q&A
answer · Romagna Water Dog
I’ve found that my dog enjoys digging through a box filled with different scents. He’ll spend hours just sniffing around, and it keeps him engaged. Lagottos are such scent-oriented dogs.
answer · Romagna Water Dog
My Lagotto once got his head stuck in a bush trying to chase a squirrel. It was hilarious seeing him wiggle and squirm until he finally freed himself!
answer · Romagna Water Dog
Yes, I would recommend them. They have such a fun personality.

Oh boy, I did the same thing! My Lagotto dug up the entire yard searching for those treats. It was a lot of fun to watch, but now I have to do some serious landscaping. Getting them busy is worth it, but maybe next time I’ll bury them in a more contained area!
answer · Romagna Water Dog
Absolutely! My Lagotto found a hidden stash of my socks under the couch. They really have an extraordinary sense of smell and can track scents for long distances.
answer · Romagna Water Dog
I let my Lagotto swim whenever we visit a beach or lake. They enjoy splashing around and are such natural swimmers. It's great exercise for them, and the water just seems to bring out their playful side.

I do keep my Lagotto Romagnolo's coat shorter during summer. It helps them stay cool and is so much easier to manage in the heat. I recommend it if you live in a hot area.
answer · Romagna Water Dog
I think they’re a perfect choice for first-time owners. They're loving and not too high maintenance, but they do need daily exercise to keep them happy.
question · Romagna Water Dog
Is it just mine, or does every Lagotto have an incredible nose?
