Q&A
answer · Australian Kelpie
One thing that blew my mind was how quickly my Australian Kelpie learned to navigate the backyard. I thought she would just run around aimlessly, but instead, she figured out exactly where her toys were hidden and even created a little 'route' through the flower beds. Their natural instinct to herd really comes into play during playtime; she tries to gather all the toys in one spot, like she’s herding them together. Plus, Kelpies are known for being quite vocal, which surprised me. She has this unique way of barking that makes it sound like she's trying to talk. It's adorable and often leads to funny moments.

Long walks and a game of fetch work wonders.
answer · Australian Kelpie
Definitely! My Kelpie is very social and loves playing with other dogs. He's also quite the herder, so he sometimes tries to get other dogs to join in on the fun.
answer · Australian Kelpie
Yes, Kelpies are fantastic dogs if you stay active.

Mine too, every single time. I stopped expecting dignity. It makes life funnier. If you find a fix, tell me. Until then I am just documenting the comedy. Still figuring it out like everyone else, Emily.

My Australian Kelpie is fantastic with kids. She has a lot of energy, but she knows how to be gentle and playful. I always supervise their playtime, and she seems to understand that she needs to be careful. Kelpies are incredibly intelligent, so training her to be calm around little ones was easier than I expected. It's great to see them running around together.
