Trusting my Podengo off leash has been a journey. When I first adopted him, I thought he'd be fine off leash, but his instinct to chase small animals has made me more cautious. We’ve worked a lot on recall, and I’m more comfortable now, especially in fenced parks where he can enjoy some freedom. It's important to gradually build that trust.

My Podengo has a knack for chasing after leaves. It’s like she thinks they’re alive! Sometimes, she gets so into it that she forgets where she is.

Yes, I highly recommend them! They are fun-loving and loyal. My Podengo has such a quirky personality; she'll chase her tail and then pretend to be serious when we’re playing fetch. They do need regular exercise and mental stimulation, so be ready for that!

Oh yes, my Portuguese Podengo is super athletic too! He can jump onto surfaces I didn't even think he could reach. It’s amazing to see him in action, they’re such agile little dogs. I’ve learned to dog-proof everything because he’s quick to explore. Their curiosity is endless!
