Absolutely! My Akbash is always on high alert. It's like he has a security job at home. I love that they can be so loyal and protective, but I also work on training him to be calm around new people. It’s a balance, but it’s worth it!

The biggest misconception is that all Kangals are aggressive. They are actually protective and very loving with their families. They require proper training to channel their protective instincts positively.

They seem to prefer being outside since they were bred for that purpose. However, mine loves to lounge around inside with the family too. It’s so cute how he’ll switch between the two.
