Q&A
answer · Australian Kelpie
I’ve found that agility training really tires my Kelpie out. They have so much energy and love to have a job to do. Even a simple obstacle course in the yard can keep them engaged.
answer · Australian Kelpie
I was shocked by how affectionate my Kelpie is. I always thought they were just working dogs, but mine loves cuddles more than anything.
answer · Australian Kelpie
My Kelpie absolutely loves meeting new dogs. They seem to thrive on social interactions and can be quite friendly. I think it helps that they are naturally energetic and playful, which draws the attention of other pups. However, I've noticed that my Kelpie can be a bit overwhelming for more timid dogs due to his high energy. It's important to monitor their interactions to ensure everyone is comfortable. Overall, socialization has been a great part of his upbringing.

You are not imagining it. I stopped expecting dignity. It makes life funnier.
answer · Australian Kelpie
Australian Kelpies are such a joy to have, but they are not for everyone. They need lots of exercise and mental challenges to keep them happy. I've found that agility training really taps into their energetic nature and encourages them to use their brains. One fun quirk I noticed is their tendency to 'talk' back when excited or frustrated, which can be pretty entertaining. Just know they can become a bit mischievous if they get bored, so keep them engaged!
