Oh, for sure! My Deerhound has the same routine. I joke that they’re part cat because they love to lounge all day and then go full speed at night. It’s amusing to see them unleash that pent-up energy. I read that it’s pretty common for Deerhounds to have these bursts, so you're definitely not alone!

I’m cautious about letting my Deerhound off leash. While they are generally calm, they have a strong instinct to chase. I took my Deerhound to a park once and he spotted a deer and took off! Training has helped with recall, but I still prefer to keep him leashed in open areas. They are gentle giants, but their size and speed can be surprising.

Totally get you here! My Scottish Deerhound acts like every available couch is just for him. It's hilarious but also a bit challenging when I want a moment to myself. They really love their comfort!
