My funniest Spinone story happened last summer when we were at the beach. He found a ball, ran straight into the water, and thought it was a good idea to dive under. He came up looking shocked, covered in sand but still wagging his tail. It was hilarious because he acted like he was a little fish! Spinones are such goofy dogs and full of surprises.

I usually hand strip my Spinone Italiano because it maintains their coat and brings out their natural texture better. I found that clipping can lead to matting and less control over the coat’s shape. However, it does require a bit of practice to get it right. I suggest watching some tutorials or asking your groomer for tips if you're new to it!

I highly recommend a Spinone. They are incredibly loyal and have a calm demeanor that makes them fantastic companions. They do require regular exercise, so if you're able to give them daily walks and playtime, they will thrive. Plus, they have an interesting history as hunting dogs, which makes them versatile. They also have a unique, shaggy coat that needs grooming, but it's worth it for their sweet nature.

Yes! My Spinone's beard always seems to attract all kinds of nature. After walks, it looks like a small forest! I often joke that we should start charging admission to see the wildlife in there. It’s just part of their charm, I guess. I've learned to keep a brush handy for after walks, but I wouldn't trade that quirky beard for anything.
