Q&A
answer · Black And Tan Coonhound
I absolutely recommend a Bluetick Coonhound if you're ready for an active dog. They have a fantastic sense of smell and love to follow scents, which can lead to some interesting adventures. Just be aware that they can be quite vocal, so if you live in an apartment, it might be a challenge. They also have a goofy, playful side that makes them a joy to have around.

I couldn’t agree more! Engaging their senses with scent work is key to a happy, well-rounded Redbone.

Yes, I think they’re great fun! My dog really enjoys sniffing around and finding hidden treats, and it helps him burn off energy. I’ve noticed he’s also more relaxed at home afterward.

Yes, my Mountain Cur is the same! He’s always eager to explore more trails. Just when I think he’s tired, he’s ready to chase a squirrel or play fetch. It’s amazing how resilient they are. I’ve found that giving him a good workout really helps with his energy, and a tired Cur is a happy Cur.

Is it just mine, or does your Mountain Cur always need something to do?

My Treeing Tennessee Brindle can smell something interesting before I even know it's there 😂 Anyone else's dog like this?
