Kelpies are known for their herding instincts, so I set up playdates with other dogs. The combination of chasing and playing makes my Kelpie completely exhausted, which is a huge win for me. Kelpies generally do well with children, especially if they've been socialized early. My Kelpie likes to herd the kids, so we have to watch him closely to ensure he doesn't get too rough. They make wonderful companions for active families.
