I've found the same thing! My Mudi learned to dig holes in the yard right after learning commands. It can be a handful, but I try to redirect the behavior with toys and training.

My Mudi, Max, learned to fetch the TV remote. He's always so observant, so one day he just grabbed it with his mouth when it slipped off the couch. I think their strong herding instincts make them more aware of their surroundings. It’s fascinating watching them figure things out.
