The funniest thing my Dachshund ever barked at was a stuffed animal that looked just like him. He couldn't figure out why this 'other dog' wouldn’t play back. His confused little barks were priceless! It's like he thought he was barking at a twin. Dachshunds can be quite territorial, and he definitely thought he needed to defend his space from this imposter.

I would recommend getting a Dachshund. They are affectionate and bond closely with their owners. That said, they can be quite vocal and protective of their space. If you're prepared for a dog with a big personality, they can be fantastic companions.

Same energy here. I stopped expecting dignity. It makes life funnier. We have a running joke in the house that the dog thinks they run security, entertainment, and quality control.
