Q&A
answer · Schipperke
My Schipperke barks at the vacuum cleaner like it's an intruder. It's the funniest thing!
question · Schipperke
Do you let your Schipperke off leash?
answer · Schipperke
Yes, it worked wonders for my Schipperke! Instead of just correcting barking, rewarding quiet times made a huge difference in behavior.

I completely understand what you're saying! My Schipperke, Luna, reacts to people passing by way before I even notice. She starts barking and running to the window, and it honestly feels like she can read minds. They've got such a strong protective instinct. Schipperkes are known for being alert, and Luna has definitely mastered that skill. It's amusing to see her so on guard, yet she’s a total goofball once the perceived threat is gone. Sometimes it feels like I can rely on her more than the security system!

I highly recommend Schipperkes! They are incredibly loyal and make great watchdogs since they’re naturally suspicious of strangers. They have a lot of energy and love to play, but they can also be pretty independent. Make sure you’re ready for some spirited antics, as they often have a mind of their own. I've found their little quirks, like their tendency to chase shadows, entertaining and endearing. If you’re active and can provide regular exercise, these little guys will be a fantastic addition to your family.

Is it just mine, or does your Schipperke always have something to say?
