Q&A
answer · Azawakh
My Azawakh has a gentle demeanor, especially with my younger children. She plays well and often lies down to let them pet her. That being said, I always supervise their interactions just to be safe. Azawakhs can have a strong prey drive, so it's best to ensure they are trained and well-socialized. I've read that some owners have used positive reinforcement to help with any initial shyness.

If you’re ready for a unique and independent breed, an Azawakh could be a great fit. They have a strong bond with their family but can be quite aloof with strangers.

For my Azawakh, we’ve discovered that lure coursing is perfect. They are built for speed and agility, and they love chasing the lure. It really engages their instincts.

Oh, my Azawakh has a great sense of humor! She likes to pretend she's a statue when people walk by, but then she suddenly jumps up to greet them. It always gets a laugh!

You are not imagining it.
