I agree with Evelyn. My Laika is great at recall at home but gets overly excited with new smells outside. I've learned it's better to have a long leash when we're in open spaces.

I would not completely trust my Yakutian Laika off-leash just yet. They were bred for hunting and can get distracted by small animals. We've been working on training, and while they respond well, they still have that strong prey drive. I do let them explore in safe areas but keep a close eye on them.
