Q&A
answer · Komondor
I'd say yes, definitely! They're amazing guard dogs and can be very affectionate with their families. Just be aware that their grooming needs can be quite intensive. It's not a dog for everyone, but if you love the breed's characteristics, they can be a rewarding pet.

I know the feeling! My Komondor gets mistaken for a giant mop all the time, and I end up explaining the cords are a breed characteristic. It’s just part of owning such a unique breed; their appearance can really throw people off.

Nobody mentioned how heavy a Komondor can be, especially when they're wet! Bathing him is quite the workout. They have tons of fur, and it gets muddy fast. Just be prepared for serious scrubbing and drying time.

I wouldn't recommend a Komondor for first-time owners. They can be quite a handful.
