Same here! My White Shepherd gets mistaken for a German Shepherd all the time, especially when we're out at parks. Some people are shocked when I tell them he’s a different breed. I guess it’s just the white color that gets them confused, but they really are distinct breeds with unique traits!

I do let my White Shepherd off-leash sometimes, but it really depends on the environment. They are quite intelligent and can be trained to recall, but they can also get distracted easily. In open spaces, it's great to let them run, as they have a natural inclination to roam. Just be sure the area is safe and secure to avoid any mishaps. Always have treats handy for positive reinforcement.
