Absolutely! My Coonhound gets absolutely fixated on certain scents, especially when we're out on walks. It's entertaining but also a bit frustrating, especially when he picks up on something that’s miles away. Once, he followed a trail into the bushes, and I had to coax him out with a squeaky toy. Their distraction level is on another planet!

Exactly! My dog will often find hidden treasures like sticks or stones that he just has to check out. Each walk is a new experience as he discovers the world through his nose.

I can’t let my Redbone off-leash in most situations. They are great trackers and will take off if they catch a smell. I keep him leashed or in a secured area for his safety.

I would choose an American Leopard Hound again without hesitation. They are incredibly affectionate and loyal, which makes them great family pets. One of the quirks I love about them is their playful nature; they can be goofy in the most endearing ways. When they're happy, their tails wag like crazy! They do need plenty of exercise, so prepare for daily walks or runs. Just be aware that they might have a stubborn streak during training, but it's all worth it for their companionship.

One of my funniest moments with my Treeing Walker was during a family barbecue. He jumped up and snagged a burger right off the table! We all laughed so hard watching him wolf it down like it was the best thing ever. Now, we have to keep a close eye on our food!
