Q&A
question · Kishu
My Kishu watches new people for a long time before deciding whether they're interesting 😂 Is yours like that too?
question · Kishu
If you could go back, would you still get one?
answer · Kishu
Yes, Kishu Ken are quite independent! Mine has her own mind and often decides when she wants to engage. She’ll come to me for attention, then go off and do her own thing. It does take some patience during training, but I appreciate her character. The independence is part of their charm, but it can also mean they need proper boundaries.

Yes, my vet said the same. I’ve seen how cautious my Kishu Ken can be, and letting her approach at her own pace really makes a difference.
answer · Kishu
Yes, I would recommend a Kishu Ken for the right owner. They are smart and can be quite affectionate with their families.
answer · Kishu
I trust my Kishu off leash, but only in familiar, enclosed spaces. They are loyal and stick close.
