Q&A
answer · Leonberger
The biggest surprise for me was their grooming needs. With that beautiful coat, regular brushing is essential, or you’ll end up with a big fluffy mess. They shed quite a bit, especially during shedding season. Plus, they are known to be quite vocal and express themselves with a range of sounds.

When people ask that, I say, 'Yes, he eats a lot, but he's worth every bite!' With their size, they definitely have a massive appetite. It's important to make sure they don't overeat, as that can lead to health issues. I watch their portion sizes and keep them active to manage their weight.

One of the sweetest things my Leonberger does is run to greet me when I come home. His excitement is contagious, and he jumps around with so much joy. It's almost like he’s saying, 'You’re finally back!' He has this way of making me feel so loved and appreciated. Sometimes, he also brings me his favorite toy to celebrate my return. He has a soft side that’s just as big as he is.

Absolutely, my Leonberger is allowed on the couch. He loves cuddling up after a long day.

Every time my Leo snuggles up, I remind myself that he’s not aware of his size. It’s hilarious and kind of sweet, but he definitely needs to learn some personal space.

I remember when my Leonberger tried to sneak up on a squirrel in the yard. He was so focused that he didn’t realize he had stepped right into a puddle. The look on his face when he got soaked was priceless! I think they have a habit of not paying attention to their size.
question · Leonberger
Is anyone else's Leo convinced they're still a tiny puppy?
