One major challenge for me has been grooming. American Eskimo Dogs have a thick double coat that requires regular brushing to prevent mats and tangles. If I skip a few days, it can turn into a mini disaster. I've learned that making it a fun bonding time helps, so I often give treats during the grooming sessions. They are such smart dogs and once they realize it's not a chore, they usually cooperate better.
