Yes, that definitely happens with my Grand Basset. When she’s tracking a scent, she’s like a bloodhound on a mission. I could be standing right next to her, and she wouldn’t even notice. It’s fascinating to watch her work, but I do worry about her getting too caught up in it and wandering off.

I would recommend a Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen for sure. They have a lovely temperament and are incredibly friendly. They can be stubborn at times, but with consistent training, they're wonderful companions. Just be ready for some grooming because they have that lovely, wiry coat.
