I totally get the sniff obsession! My Grand Basset, Luna, once spent 15 minutes investigating a particularly intriguing patch of grass. It’s like they are on a mission to uncover secrets. They can definitely get lost in their own world when they catch a whiff of something exciting.

My Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen, Charlie, can sniff for ages. The longest I've timed him was about 20 minutes! He just gets so focused on the scent, it’s like everything else fades away. It's quite amusing to watch because he really puts his whole body into it, with his nose practically glued to the ground. I've read that they have a fantastic sense of smell, which is why they get so absorbed. I guess when they find something interesting, it's a whole adventure for them.
