Q&A
answer · American Foxhound
I trust my Coonhound to an extent, but it really depends on the environment. They love to sniff around and track scents, which can lead to them wandering off.
answer · American Foxhound
Yes, I do recommend an American English Coonhound.
answer · American Foxhound
I was baking cookies, and my dog, Scout, was right at my feet. I turned around for just a second, and he had his nose in the mixing bowl, licking up the leftover batter. It was quite a sight, and I had to shoo him away before he ruined my baking session. Coonhounds are definitely persistent when they smell something delicious!
answer · American Foxhound
Totally! My Coonhound does the same thing. He's great at finding the most interesting trails, and walks always take longer. I love his enthusiasm for scents, but it does make time management tricky. Just roll with it and enjoy the adventure!
answer · American Foxhound
Same energy here.
answer · American Foxhound
My Coonhound is great with kids. He plays well and doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
question · American Foxhound
What's your funniest Coonhound story?
answer · American Foxhound
Definitely! They have a strong prey drive, which means keeping them in check can be tough.
answer · American Foxhound
I’d say keeping them engaged is challenging. They need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. Without it, they can get bored and start digging or barking.
answer · American Foxhound
I’d say they are great companions if you have the time to exercise them. They fit well into a family with an active lifestyle. Their friendly nature makes them good with kids.
answer · American Foxhound
Foxhounds are notorious for their noses; they love to follow scents!

Is it just mine, or does every walk become a detective mission?
