Yes! My Schnauzer alerts us if someone walks by or if a leaf rustles. It’s hilarious but also impressive how aware they are of their surroundings. They really do have a knack for keeping an eye on everything.

When my Miniature Schnauzer barks at the mailman, it’s a whole production. She runs to the door, barking her little heart out, and then she jumps up and down like she's in a cheerleading squad. It's like she believes she’s stopping a burglar from breaking in. I’ve read that these dogs can be quite territorial, and it really shows in her behavior. She definitely lets everyone know who’s boss around here.
