Q&A
answer · Portuguese Sheepdog
I totally relate! My Sheepdog is always checking up on everyone. It’s like they have a sixth sense about where the kids are. If one of us is in another room, he'll stand by the door waiting until we come out. It’s heartwarming and a bit funny at the same time. This breed really brings the family together.
question · Portuguese Sheepdog
My trainer said teaching "settle" was just as important as teaching "sit." Was it worth it?
answer · Portuguese Sheepdog
One time, my Portuguese Sheepdog decided to steal my socks right out of the laundry basket. He then proceeded to parade around the house with them, acting like he just won a trophy. It was hilarious watching him prance around, showing off his 'prize.' They have such a silly, playful side that really comes out in moments like that.
answer · Portuguese Sheepdog
I would absolutely recommend the Portuguese Sheepdog. They are intelligent and very trainable, making them great companions. Their herding instinct means they'll keep you busy, which is perfect if you enjoy an active lifestyle. Just be aware that they need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation.
answer · Portuguese Sheepdog
For sure! Mine knows the routine too.
answer · Portuguese Sheepdog
Definitely! My dog needs to know where everyone is at all times. It’s endearing but can be a little much when I just want to sneak off for a quick break.
answer · Portuguese Sheepdog
I let my Portuguese Sheepdog off-leash in our backyard or when we're hiking in a secure area. They have a lot of energy to burn and enjoy exploring. However, I keep a close eye on them because they can be quite curious. It's important to socialize them well first.
