Q&A
answer · Karelian Bear Dog
I really think a Karelian Bear Dog can be a great addition to the right home. They are incredibly loyal and protective and bond closely with their families. However, they require a firm handler who can provide them with consistent training and structure. Their intelligence can lead to some mischievous behavior if they get bored, so plenty of mental stimulation and exercise is a must.

answer · Karelian Bear Dog
For me, the biggest training challenge has been managing my Karelian Bear Dog's instinct to roam. They're known for their strong hunting drive, which can make them a bit independent. Getting him to focus during walks without pulling or wanting to chase squirrels has taken time and patience. Positive reinforcement works best for him, especially when I reward him for staying close. I've also had to learn how to be more assertive during our training sessions.
