Yes, it's like having a constant blizzard in your house! My American Eskimo leaves a trail of fur wherever he goes. The vacuuming is non-stop, but they are so worth it for their loving nature. I’ve learned to manage it better, but it’s definitely an ongoing battle.

The most surprising thing about my American Eskimo Dog is how much they love to be around people. They have this charming personality that makes them great companions. I thought they would be more independent, but they actually follow me everywhere. Their fluffy coat also sheds more than I expected, so I’m always on top of grooming. They can be a bit stubborn when learning new tricks, but once they get it, they are eager to show off. They truly make fantastic family pets.

How are they with children?

Teaching the 'quiet' command early was one of the best decisions I made with my American Eskimo Dog. They are known for being vocal, and without that command, I would have been overwhelmed. It took some consistency, but now he responds well. It means a lot to have some quiet time at home!

Is it just mine, or does your American Eskimo Dog smile all the time?

One of my funniest stories was when my American Eskimo Dog tried to 'help' me cook. He jumped up on the counter to sniff everything!

You are not imagining it. Ours acts like every small win deserves a parade. If you find a fix, tell me. Until then I am just documenting the comedy.

The best part of having an Eskie is their loyalty. They are incredibly devoted to their families. It's heartwarming to see how they bond and want to be a part of everything.

If you're active and enjoy outdoor activities, this breed can keep up and will thrive with you. They are known for their alertness, making them decent watchdogs, but they can also be a bit stubborn if not trained consistently. Overall, I think first-time owners will find them delightful.

Yes, my American Eskimo Dog sleeps in bed with me. They are such affectionate dogs, and I love the companionship. Just be ready for some playful antics in the morning!

My Spitz loves playing fetch. She could chase that ball for hours.

Last week, my Spitz, Mochi, decided that the best way to greet me was by rolling in the mud. When I came home, he was a complete mess, but the way he pranced around proudly was too funny to be mad. He’s got this wild personality that just cracks me up.

I’ve faced challenges with separation anxiety, particularly since American Eskimo Dogs form strong bonds with their owners. Whenever I leave the house, they seem to get really upset. I’ve started practicing short departures and gradually increasing the time away. It seems to help ease their anxiety. I also provide them with interactive toys to keep them busy while I’m gone. It requires patience, but it's worth it when I come home to a happy pup instead of a distressed one.

My American Eskimo, Coco, is super friendly with new people. She's like a little social butterfly. When we go to the dog park, she makes a beeline for the newcomers and has this way of making them feel special. It's clear she enjoys the attention and loves to be the center of it.

Little and often works better than one marathon session. I do a quick brush before walks and a longer session once a week. I keep a small kit by the door: pin brush, comb, treats. Five minutes before we go out beats an hour fixing mats later. Still figuring it out like everyone else, Thomas.

I vacuumed this morning... by dinner it looked like I'd never cleaned the house 😂 Anyone else living in a snowstorm of white fur?
