Their love for water can be a challenge too. They’ll jump into any body of water they see.

The biggest challenge with owning a Newfoundland is their size and shedding. They can be quite the mess with all that fur, especially during shedding season. Bathing them can also be quite a workout, given their bulk. But their gentle nature is worth it.
