Q&A
answer · Akita
I think they are great dogs, especially if you have some experience. They can be a bit aloof with strangers but are incredibly loyal to their families. Just be prepared for some strong opinions from them!
answer · Akita
My Akita once jumped into the pool during a pool party, thinking he could swim. He spent more time splashing than actually swimming. It was a sight! They’re known for their stubbornness, but they sure know how to have fun.
answer · Akita
They can be great with children, but early socialization is key.
answer · Akita
Absolutely, I'd choose an Akita again.
answer · Akita
They are like big cuddly bears to me.
answer · Akita
He calmly assesses everyone but then loves to play once he’s comfortable. It’s quite a routine.
answer · Akita
I absolutely love their loyalty. Akitas tend to bond deeply with their owners.
answer · Akita
I was shocked by how fiercely loyal they are. My Akita is by my side all the time, which is great but also means I need to work on independence training.
answer · Akita
I was surprised by her intelligence. She picks up commands quickly.
answer · Akita
One bush and all my work is gone too. I do a quick brush before walks and a longer session once a week.
answer · Akita
Mine too, every single time. Ours acts like every small win deserves a parade.
question · Akita
My trainer told me not to force my Akita to greet strangers. Best advice I've gotten so far. What worked for you?
