Is it just mine, or does your Redbone always have their nose glued to the ground?

Yes, that's totally normal for a Redbone Coonhound. Their sense of smell is incredible, and they often get distracted by interesting scents while they're out and about. My Redbone will sometimes follow a trail for what feels like ages, and it can be quite the adventure watching him work through it. They were bred for tracking and hunting, so their nose is practically a tool for them. Just be prepared for a lot of sniffing on walks!

Yep, mine does the same. It's like he’s on a mission every time we go outside.

Totally! It's a Redbone thing.

Absolutely! My Redbone always has her nose to the ground, especially when we're at the park. I’ve noticed she can get lost in her own world, sniffing out every little thing. It’s part of their hunting nature, which is something I love about her. Just keep an eye on them so they don’t get too distracted or wander off.

For sure, it’s not just yours. My Redbone has his nose glued to the ground all the time. I learned that this breed loves to track scents because they were originally bred for hunting raccoons. It can be amusing, but I have to keep a close watch so he doesn’t get too caught up in sniffing everything. Just be ready for some fun adventures when you’re out with them!
