My Akbash is cautious around new people. She gives them a good sniff and takes her time to warm up. It’s her nature to protect what she considers her territory.

When new people visit, my Akbash is very protective. She'll bark at first, but if they don’t pose a threat, she calms down and is friendly. It's interesting because she really seems to have an instinct about who's a friend and who's not.

My Akbash is pretty chill with visitors after the initial barking. She's protective but also very loving once she gets to know them. I think her guarding instincts are strong.
