At first, she can seem a bit standoffish. However, once she senses that someone is friendly, her whole demeanor changes, and she’s super playful. She loves to show off her tricks to get people to engage with her.

My Lancashire Heeler is pretty cautious around new people. She will usually bark a little at first, then sniff them out. Once she feels comfortable, she can be very affectionate. I think it's a typical Heeler trait to be protective of their family. After a few minutes, she’s all about the attention.

She gets curious but reserved. It takes her a few moments to warm up, but once she does, she's all wagging tails.

My Heeler tends to be suspicious at first. When new people come over, he will definitely hang back and observe from a distance. I've noticed if they sit down and ignore him, he’ll eventually approach to sniff. Once he decides they are okay, he will happily jump in for some cuddles and attention.

My Lancashire Heeler is quite the character when it comes to meeting new people. Initially, he barks and protects the space, but after a little while, his curiosity gets the best of him. He often approaches with a wagging tail but keeps a safe distance at first. I believe this breed has a natural instinct to be wary of strangers, which makes them great watchdogs. Once he feels safe, he’s all in for some belly rubs. Plus, they're known for their intelligence, so teaching him to greet guests politely has been a fun challenge.
