My trainer told me to teach an "off switch" instead of adding more exercise. Did that work for anyone?

I can definitely relate. Implementing an "off switch" for my Lancashire Heeler was a game changer. Instead of constantly exercising him, I focused on teaching him to settle down when needed. I used treats and praise to reinforce calm behavior, which helped. After some consistent practice, I noticed he was much more relaxed and less hyperactive at home. Balancing activity with downtime is crucial for this breed.

Thanks for sharing. My Heeler is very active, and I found the balance between exercise and teaching her to relax really helpful. It made our days much easier.
