One thing nobody warned me about when I got my American English Coonhound is their stubbornness. They can be incredibly willful and often test boundaries. It's essential to stay consistent with training, or they will take advantage. They also have this amazing hunting instinct; if they catch a scent, you’ll have a hard time getting their attention back. Their love for tracking can turn walks into wild chases if you're not careful. But once they bond with you, their loyalty is unmatched.

My Coonhound tried to join the neighbor's cat in a game of hide and seek. He hid behind a tree, but his tail was sticking out, wagging like crazy. It was impossible for the cat to take him seriously!
