I’ve found that long walks with lots of sniff breaks really help tire my Foxhound out.

One thing that works well for us is going on longer hikes. Foxhounds are bred for endurance, so they thrive on that kind of physical activity. We also play hide and seek with their toys, which keeps their minds engaged as well. It’s a win-win for tiring them out!

I’ve had success with agility training. Foxhounds are naturally curious and love to explore, so setting up an obstacle course in the yard keeps them occupied. They enjoy the challenge, and it burns off a lot of energy. Plus, it’s great for bonding time, and I can see them becoming more confident with each session.

I find that swimming is another great way to tire out our Foxhound. They love the water and will swim until they are completely worn out. If there's a local lake or pool that allows dogs, it's worth checking out. It’s a fantastic way to exercise them without putting too much strain on their joints.

Taking them to a dog park really helps!

A combination of fetch and some scent games works wonders. Foxhounds have a strong scent drive, so hiding treats or toys around the house gives them a fun challenge and keeps them active. They usually come back ready to relax after those sessions.

Our Foxhound loves to chase after a ball or play fetch in the backyard. They are so fast and can run for a long time. I've noticed that if I combine some basic obedience training during the play, it really helps focus their energy. They have this amazing stamina, typical for the breed, which means regular exercise is key to keeping them calm indoors.
