Generally, my Afghan Hound doesn’t care much about other dogs. He has a regal air and prefers to observe from a distance. When he does interact, it’s usually just a brief sniff and then he moves on. I think part of it is their history as independent hunters that makes them less interested in canine socializing.

My Afghan is very selective with his dog friends. He can be friendly, but only with those he feels comfortable with.

My Afghan Hound is surprisingly social and enjoys meeting other dogs. It seems like he recognizes them as fellow beings and wants to play.

He mostly ignores them, though. He'd rather sniff around than socialize.

He really doesn't engage much. It's interesting how they're known for being aloof, and mine definitely fits that description.
