Not entirely. My Rat Terrier tends to get distracted quickly and loves to explore. I prefer to keep her leashed when we’re on walks.

I would say I trust my Rat Terrier off leash only in secure areas. They're known for their high energy and curiosity, so they can easily wander off if something catches their eye. In open spaces, I always keep an eye on him. He loves to chase after small animals, which is something to watch out for.

Nope, not off leash.

I usually don’t trust my Rat Terrier off leash. They're very intelligent and can get into trouble quickly. I've heard that Rat Terriers can often follow scents and run off, so I prefer to keep him close by. Training and recall practices help, but I still feel safer keeping him leashed in public.

I’ve had mixed experiences. My Rat Terrier is loyal and will come back if I call him, but he's also quite adventurous. In safe, enclosed parks, he enjoys running free. However, I never trust him around busy streets or during hunting season, as he's got a strong prey drive.

My Rat Terrier is pretty reliable off leash, but only after plenty of training. They can be stubborn, but with consistent commands, he responds well. However, I still wouldn’t trust him around distractions like squirrels. It’s vital to know your dog’s personality.
